Ascent to Interior Prayer
This paper was developed and written by Fred Schaeffer, SFO, when he in religious life
from March 1998-June 2002. He left due to poor health
and has been re-instated as a full member of the SFO (professed 1994)This paper, when written, was not intended for Secular Franciscans. It had broad appeal to other contemplatives and perhaps Lay Carmelites (OCD) and similar orders. I place it here, however, because Secular Franciscans are prayerful people. They, too, would like to develop an interior relationship with Jesus. The Poor Clares, a Franciscan Order of contemplative nuns, might also be interested in reading this paper.
