Paulist Press Publishers, run by the Paulist Fathers at Mahwah, NJ has published the "Classics of Western Spirituality" Series, which you will probably find in every Franciscan and/or Dominican library and Seminary. I have three of these books, and have read several more, and I've really enjoyed reading them over the years. They are full of knowledge, detail and solid Catholic Spirituality. I've made a list of some of the books that may be of interest to serious readers. Since books are quite expensive these days, you may try to find used books. In my town, there is a large book center which has tons of used books, and every once in a while one of the "Classics of Western Spirituality" shows up. The one I found the other day was on the writings of Catherine of Siena, a Dominican and a Doctor of the Church.
